Mellowing from Uni study on a beautiful March day, Ricky Bell has completed two projects on Binnian in the Mournes. When Ricky dropped us an email to let us know, he was totally psyched and had had an awesome day. No wonder because he had just soloed Crystal Methods E8/9 6c. Ricky decided to solo Crystal Methods because it allowed him to do the line direct without drifting off left to place the runner in the crack.

He finished of the day by completing a highball boulder problem that he’d been trying for ages. Ricky called the boulder problem ‘Head First For Halos’ because; “you tend to fall off that way while trying to top out on this total elephants arse.” Ricky puts it at Font 7c, maybe harder.
