Marmot's Catalyst jacket has won Outside Magazine’s 2008 “Gear of the Year” Award in the shell category. This comes after it was named Backpacker 2008 Editor’s Choice Green Award Winner, the third Editor's Choice Award that Marmot DriClime Jackets have won.

The Original DriClime® Windshirt won Backpacker’s Editor’s Choice Award in 1993 and then in 2002 it won the Editor’s Choice “Gold Award,” which recognized the garment as an industry standard. By winning this year’s “Green Award,” Marmot is the first company to capture Backpacker’s “Triple Crown” – honoring the garment separately three times!

So what is so special about the Marmot Catalyst Jacket?

The outer shell provides wind resistancy, water repellancy and the Driclime bi-component lining provides phenominal wicking capability just like it's sister products; the Original Driclime Windshirt and the Driclime Jacket.
However, the next step in the Marmot’s DriClime® evolution, the Catalyst, uses 100% recycled materials in the bi-component lining, a face fabric consisting of 88% recylced fabric and a completely recycled zipper.
